As Unitarian Universalists (UUs), we lift up the core value of love for every person and the sanctity of international law. We support the transitioning of UUs toward greater action for justice for Palestinians, who have endured the violent impacts of Zionism. We are committed to work that is accountable to the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people including ending military occupation, settler colonialism, and apartheid, and supporting the right of return for Palestinian refugees, as affirmed by the United Nations.
Support Palestinian solidarity by shopping at businesses at have dropped food products from their shelves from companies that are complicit in the colonization of Palestine. A list of these local businesses can be found at No Appetite for Apartheid NOLA https://na4a.org/.

Dear Representative Troy Carter:
As leaders of faith-based organizations, labor organizations, and other community groups in the greater New Orleans region, we speak as one when we say that we live up to the core value of love for every person and we value the sanctity of international law. In response to Israel’s destruction of Gaza, with the stated purpose of ethnically cleansing the indigenous Palestinian population of Gaza, we are compelled to publish our grief, a grief that is compounded knowing that our own congressman has played a role in the destruction of Gaza.
Therefore, we, the signatories below demand that you, as our member of congress, withdraw your support of the destruction of Gaza by voting to end all delivery of U.S. military aid to the State of Israel while that country is committing the crimes of 1) ethnic cleansing through its destruction of the infrastructure required to sustain life in the Gaza Strip; and 2) apartheid against the indigenous population of Palestine. We say enough with the endless wars that our elected officials prioritize over the sanctity of human life. Civil society in New Orleans demands that all peoples be treated as sacred.
