In the years following Hurricane Katrina, First UU Church New Orleans' membership has answered the challenge with energy and dedication. Nonetheless, First Church is still in a rebuilding and recovery mode. Our renovation, including the infrastructure of our Sanctuary, a new Community Kitchen which will be shared with the NO/AIDS Taskforce Food for Friends Program, and our revitalized Flowers Religious Education wing, will create a facility that meets the new municipal building codes.
Donations to First Church's Operating Fund keep the church's mission and programs operating, extending ministry in the wider community, educating our children and youth as religious liberals, and providing high quality worship services Sunday after Sunday. We are grateful for all gifts, in whatever amounts, from members, friends, and alumni and partners outside the city. To make a one-time donation please use the form to the right.
Here are some other ways you can support us:
- Our annual Christmas Tree sale
- Secondline umbrellas and other crafts available for sale throughout the year
Dedicate a brick in our Stepping Stones Campaign
The goal of the FUUNO Stepping Stones Campaign is to provide a safe, accessible, welcoming entrance to the church with a dedicated brick memorial. Members and Friends of FUUNO can pave the way to this transformation. Once the campaign has raised 1000 bricks, installation will begin, and the entrance will fulfill its mission as a pathway to Unitarian Universalism in New Orleans. Friends can engrave a message on the bricks that will forever remain the foundation to FUUNO’s service in the wider community. Donate Now
Feel free to contact our office regarding special donations or memorials.
